Classic Alfa Romeo restoration

Bringing a classic Alfa Romeo back to life takes time, the right parts and real know-how. Since 2017, our workshop in Nazelles-Négron, near Amboise and Tours, has been restoring Giulias, Spiders, GT Bertones, Alfettas and other classic Italian cars, from simple refurbishment to full restoration.

A full restoration or step by step

Every project starts with an assessment of the car and a discussion about your goals: regular driving, returning to original condition, preparing for a sale or a concours. We then draw up a quote and a work plan. The restoration can be done in one go or in stages, to spread the budget.

The stages of a restoration

  1. Assessment and dismantling: recording the condition of the body, mechanicals and interior, photos and labelling of parts.
  2. Aqua blasting: the body is stripped to bare metal without distorting the panels, to reveal the real extent of corrosion.
  3. Panel work and chassis check: replacement of tired panels, then checking and realignment on a Celette jig.
  4. Paint: preparation and painting of the body.
  5. Mechanicals: rebuild of the engine, gearbox, rear axle, brakes, suspension and carburettors, with parts cleaned by vapour blasting.
  6. Electrics: wiring looms, starter, dynamo or alternator, ignition.
  7. Upholstery and finishing: seats, trim, seals, chrome, badges.
  8. Reassembly, adjustment and road tests: the car is handed back to you ready to drive.
