Restoration Spider 1300 Junior

This Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior was the first full restoration carried out by Ma Petite Italienne. A car that needed a lot of work, and one you may have seen at Rétromobile 2018.

The car was fully restored by us; here are the details of the different stages.

When the car was brought back

When the car arrives at the Ma Petite Italienne workshop, we start dismantling it to see how much work its restoration will need.

Stripping to bare metal

After removing most of the car, we strip the shell to bare metal. This step really shows the work needed to give this Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior the shine it deserves. Several areas are badly damaged.

Panel work

Next we start on the panel work. The first step is to cut out the most damaged sections and replace them.

The shell of the Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior is then fully sandblasted and primed.

Painting

Then comes the paint. The choice is the elegant, understated Biancospino AR013 white, a colour from the Alfa Romeo chart.

Insulation

For good heat and sound comfort, we fully insulate the floors with Dynamat insulation. It is also available from the Classic Auto Elec online shop.

Reassembly

Once the shell is painted, Ma Petite Italienne starts reassembly. The expertise of Classic Auto Elec, our sister company, is a great help for the complete rebuild of the wiring loom.

For parts, we can rely on the large stock of original parts we have collected.

The mechanical parts are then tackled one by one. The interior also gets full insulation.
